Dreamer of Dreams aka "Dreamer"
Dreamer of Dreams is the newest member of TROT. She's a 5 year old bay mare by Big Country out of Myra Gulch by Phone Trick. She's sound and has a very nice disposition. She's settling in nicely at Gannon Stables and will start ground work next week with Lockie.
She's a great-great-granddaughter of Secretariat, too.
Sir Classic Chris aka "Christopher"
Christopher joined the TROT program on 12/22/2011. He is a handsome 9 year old bay gelding with a great mind to go with those good looks. He has wonderful manners and is a pleasure to work with. He's not available for adoption at this time since he recently suffered a bowed right front tendon. However, we can't wait to see what he will be capable of once it heals.
He's a great-great-grandson of 1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat.
Princess Mecca aka "Mecca"
Mecca is the first TROT horse of the 2011/2012 racing season. She's a beautiful 3 year old 15.1hh bay filly. She's unraced, sound and enjoying life after racing. She is very sweet and kind and has excellent manners. She started under saddle in early January and is doing great. She walks, trots and canters.
She's also a great-great-granddaughter of Secretariat.
Xtralicous aka "Lily"
Lily is a stunning 4 year old bay filly. She is sound and 15.1hh. She is currently in training at Coggins Performance Horses in northeast Georgia. She started well under hunt seat and has a great temperament. Everyone loves her at the facility but what she really wants is a forever home with her own human to love!
Secretariat is her great-great-grandsire and great-great-great-damsire.
Pure Pulpit aka "Pulpit"
Pulpit is a 8 year old bay gelded son of Pulpit with big dark eyes. He is gentle and kind but has a sassy side if you aren't looking! He loves children, so curious about them. He's rehabbing right now and we'll have more info once he's evaluated.
He has a very impressive pedigree, too. His sire's side includes A.P. Indy, Seattle Slew and Secretariat. His dam's side includes Sham, Northern Dancer and Native Dancer.
Mac A Dude aka "Mac"
Mac is a 5 year old gelding with an inquisitive and kind personality. If you are looking for that special horse to share a deep bond with, Mac is your guy! Since his retirement, issues related to old injuries have resurfaced. He's been evaluated by a vet and we have a plan of action for his rehab. It's too early to tell but we are hoping that with time off and proper treatment, Mac will make a wonderful light riding mount for a petite rider.
Update as of 12/10/11: Mac is doing well and it looks like he will be started under saddle soon!
Village Lady aka "Lady"
Lady is a beautiful 7 year old mare who is currently enjoying retirement at the Myakka City foster barn. She's on long term lay up due to a hairline slab fracture. With time off and plenty of TLC, she should make a wonderful light riding horse. Lately, she's been hanging around with Micah, Summer's 4 year old gelding who was a TROT horse, too.
