RECYCLE FOR EX-RACERS

Do you have an old iPhone that you don't want anymore? Maybe a laptop or an MP3 player? Now there is a way to recycle your old electronic gadgets and support a worthy cause.

We are hosting an online gadget drive through Gazelle to raise money to support the horses in our program. You can visit the drive webpage at
www.recycleforex-racers.com. The goal is to raise $5,000.

A gadget drive is a new way to fundraise that turns your used electronics (laptops, cell phones, MP3 players, digital cameras & more) into cash to support a cause. Contributing to the drive is simple. Just visit the drive webpage, find the value of the gadgets you would like to donate, and send them to Gazelle (they pay for the shipping). The value will go to support TROT. You will receive a confirmation of your donation by email, and we will be notified as soon as you make your donation.

TROT IS A RECEIPIENT OF HORSE AID LIVE GRANT

We are happy to announce that Thorougbred Retirement of Tampa received a small grant from Horse Aid Live. We are very thankful to receive this grant. It will be used to pay January 2012 board for the horses at the Myakka City foster barn.

The mission of Horse Aid Live, Inc. is to promote humane treatment for all equines, regardless of breed, and to provide support for non-profit organizations that provide humane treatment and shelter for equines. This is accomplished by working with and providing support, both financial and organizational, to non-profit organizations that serve the unwanted equine population regardless of breed, including donkeys, miniatures and mules. They also stage an annual concert event to raise money and awareness for equines so fewer equines end up in crisis.

TROT IS A 2011 TCA GRANTEE

We are proud to announce that Thorougbred Retirement of Tampa is a 2011 Thoroughbred Charities of America (TCA) Grantee. They determined that our grant request upholds the TCA mission to provide a better life for Thoroughbreds, both during and after their racing careers by supporting retirement, rescue and research and by helping the people who work with them.

We are extremely grateful for this. This generous grant allows us to support the horses in our care as we rehabilitate them and find them new homes and new careers.

TCA was formed in 1990 to raise and distribute funds for charities in the Thoroughbred industry which provide a better life for Thoroughbreds both during and after their racing careers by supporting retirement, rescue, research and by helping the people who work with them. TCA is the charitable arm of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). Their latest Annual Stallion Season auction grossed nearly $1.7 million dollars.
