Mission Statement: TROT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to the safe retirement, rehabilitation and adoption of Tampa's racing Thoroughbreds. TROT IS A RECIPIENT OF 2011 HORSE AID LIVE GRANT 
We are happy to announce that Thoroughbred Retirement of Tampa received a small grant from Horse Aid Live. We are very thankful to receive this grant. It will be used to pay January 2012 board for the horses at the Myakka City foster barn. The mission of Horse Aid Live, Inc. is to promote humane treatment for all equines, regardless of breed, and to provide support for non-profit organizations that provide humane treatment and shelter for equines. This is accomplished by working with and providing support, both financial and organizational, to non-profit organizations that serve the unwanted equine population regardless of breed, including donkeys, miniatures and mules. They also stage an annual concert event to raise money and awareness for equines so fewer equines end up in crisis. Thank you, Horse Aid Live, for supporting our mission to safely retire, rehabilitate and rehome Tampa's racing Thoroughbreds! They determined that our grant request upholds the TCA mission to provide a better life for Thoroughbreds, both during and after their racing careers by supporting retirement, rescue and research and by helping the people who work with them. We are extremely grateful for this. This generous grant allows us to support the horses in our care as we rehabilitate them and find them new homes and new careers. TCA was formed in 1990 to raise and distribute funds for charities in the Thoroughbred industry which provide a better life for Thoroughbreds both during and after their racing careers by supporting retirement, rescue, research and by helping the people who work with them. TCA is the charitable arm of the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA). Their latest Annual Stallion Season auction grossed nearly $1.7 million dollars.
